At least 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.oCurrent board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology oCompletion of residency or fellowship in psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.Specific Duties: TYPE OF WORK. The duties include but are not limited to the following: oExamines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders. oPrepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques. oDiagnoses psychiatric disorders. oPrescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures. oRecommends disposition of psychiatric cases.oAdvises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders. oServes as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers. oAdvises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment. oCoordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities. oInstructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLSMust be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Contract Physician; where purpose and patriotism unite!Psychiatrist: Direct Patient Care Ninety (90) percent of the time is involved in direct patient care. Per the qualification section of this PWS, the contractor shall provide the following staff:Board-Certified Psychiatry Physicians: The VA estimates the 40 hour work week shall be divided into the following work: outpatient clinical services, inpatient clinical services, and provide on-call coverage as outlined in the terms of this contract. Outpatient services shall include Tele-health clinical services and other duties as determined by the Sheridan VA Health Care Center. Scope of Care: Contract physician(s), as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging, shall be responsible for providing Psychiatry care, including, but not limited to:Follow-up on Psychiatry IssuesIn-patient Psychiatry ConsultsOut-patient Psychiatry ConsultsHours of Operation:Business Hours The Psychiatry Department is open Monday Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm excluding recognized federal holidays.Work Schedule The contractor shall be assigned to a daytime tour of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
