Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are seeking experienced permanent Social Workers for its Children's Fieldwork teams. The teams comprise: The MASH+ team, where urgent assessment and turnaround in cases is needed in close collaboration with other relevant agencies. The A&I Team, offering therapeutic assessment to children and reviewing care packages. The Child Protection Team, issuing care proceedings, working across multi-disciplinary teams. The Court & Permanence Team dealing with Looked after Children Section 47 proceedings, writing court reports and statements and appearing in court to give evidence as required
Your new role
You are needed to provide professional and comprehensive casework, to a caseload of children and young people, be responsible for case management and submission of written reports including statements and care plans for care proceedings in County and High Courts when required. You will: • provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed. • investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidences conclusions and realistic action plans. • develop practice, that takes a holistic view of the individual, locating them in both their immediate and extended social circles, and having full regard to their overall development needs. • Ensure that all case management complies with the statutory requirements and the Council's policies and procedures
What you'll need to succeed
The successful social worker will have: • A recognised social work qualification • Full HCPC registration • Completion of ASYE • Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing social work practice • Experience of preparing and presenting case conference reports • Experience of reviewing care packages
