Post Title - Social Worker

Full time 35 hours per week

Salary Scale: HC09 £32,923 - £35,989 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Inner Moray Firth Community Mental health service for the position of a Mental Health Social Worker. The Mental Health Social Worker shall work towards empowering individuals with mental illness, their families and carers in order to lead fulfilling independent lives.

This post is responsible for providing a mental health social work service to people requiring community mental health services through therapy, support, advocacy, enabling people to manage the social factors in their lives, for example, relationships, housing and employment which allows people to get well and stay well. By building resilience in individuals, their networks and community supports and transforms peoples wellbeing. This includes assessment of needs and outcomes, developing and implementing care plans in consultation with families, carers and multidisciplinary agencies. The mental health social worker must be able to work as part of an integrated team with Community Psychiatric Nurses, Mental Health Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists and in patient services to ensure implementation of holistic care plans.

Applicants shall be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council on the Social Work Register and hold a current Social Work qualification as recognised by the SSSC as being a Social Work BA (hons) degree or equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW).
