An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join our Looked after Children Through Care Team, based in Chippenham. By working with other specialists teams, our social workers are able to really focus on working directly with families to make a positive impact for children and young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a unitary authority which is leading the way through it's transformational program (FACT).
About the role
Your role will be key to the ongoing support of children in the care of Wiltshire Council. No two days will be the same and will range from being responsible for statutory visiting through to completing permanency reports, court reports, looked after reviews, attending fostering panel, advocating the wishes of the child and liaising with foster parents, professionals and schools. In fact, your contributions will be fundamental to safeguarding vulnerable children and promoting positive outcomes to ensure the long term needs of the child are met.
You will also be encouraged to make an active contribution to the development of service delivery through the sharing of your knowledge, information and skills as well as having access to our Developing Manager Programme and undertaking regular practice education.
You will hold a relevant Social Care qualification, HCPC Registration and relevant experience. You will bring an understanding of related agendas, practices and policies, as well as a thorough knowledge of all associated legislation. You will also relish the opportunity to contribute positively to the social work team and department.
